The team responsible for BIS Foodservice has acquired the business unit from BIS Shrapnel and relaunched it as a dedicated foodservice market research company named Food Industry (FI) Foresight.
Headed up by Sissel Rosengren, who for many years held the role of senior manager, food and beverages, for BIS Foodservice, FI Foresight is one of only three major market research organisations in the world which conducts data, research and reports specifically on and for the foodservice industry.
"The key difference is that from October 1 we will be an independent company entirely dedicated to the food industry, whereas at BIS Shrapnel we were one of several unrelated business units,” said Rosengren.
"The name may be new, but the team of expert researchers is the same, and we will continue to supply the same studies, capabilities and expert analysis of the foodservice market and other food and beverage markets that we have provided to industry for more than 25 years.”
Rosengren said the company’s new name conveys the scope of the research it conducts.
"We research and analyse data, both qualitative and quantitative, to deliver understandings and insights and provide forecasts for the food industry … The new name encapsulates this breadth of knowledge while also emphasising our exclusive focus on the food industry.
"As an independent organisation exclusively focused on the food industry, we are ideally positioned to deliver our core competencies of market research and intelligence, market size modelling and industry forecasting to the many client businesses seeking strategic counsel, research project work and general consultancy."
Just like BIS Foodservice, FI Foresight will provide research on the state of the Australian, New Zealand and South-east Asian foodservice markets, along with the regular tracking studies and reports on coffee and beverages, fast food in Australia, the route trade market, foodservice equipment, ethnic foods and liquor.
“To collect its primary data, FI Foresight will continue to use its own team of dedicated foodservice interviewers which has been established under BIS Foodservice. Through this internal field force we consistently monitor and check data collection and sampling ensuring the highest level of data quality,” said FI Foresight research director, Tim Emmerson.
