Post Pandemic Recovery Continues

Our most recent market size data for Australian Foodservice shows a continued recovery albeit uneven across some channels and product categories.

Setting 2019 Volumes as a starting point with an index of 100, we can see how far each commercial foodservice channel has recovered. None are back to pre-pandemic volumes and the quickesty recovery has been in the Pub Channel at 89% compared to their pre-covid volumes.

QSR had a declining volume as they were least hit during the pandemic with their focus on takeaway but have suffered somewhat as other channels reopened after Covid.

QSR Independents have not recovered as well partly influenced by work from home and some business failures.

Further analysing the data across product categories shows some interesting movements.

Our 2022 Australian Foodservice Market Size Data is now available.
